Enemy plans to seize Kursk NPP, Ukrainian losses: situation in Kursk Region

MOSCOW, November 5. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have lost more than 200 troops in the Kursk area over the past day, with two servicemen surrendering as prisoners of war (POWs), the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
In total, the enemy has lost more than 29,800 troops since the fighting began in the region.
The Russian Armed Forces have provided slides of a report by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine on the plan to capture the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The documents were demonstrated at the press briefing by Chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
TASS has gathered the key news about the unfolding situation.
– Russia’s Battlegroup North repelled six enemy counterattacks towards the settlements of Daryino, Nizhny Klin and Novoivanovka.
– It also thwarted Ukrainian attack attempts towards the settlements of Leonidovo and Plekhovo.
– Units of the battlegroup continued offensive operations, defeating Ukrainian formations in the areas of the settlements of Daryino, Leonidovo, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka and Plekhovo.
– Russian tactical aircraft and artillery hit clusters of Ukrainian manpower and equipment in the Kursk Region.
– Operational/tactical aircraft and missile forces hit amassment areas and enemy reserves in the Sumy Region.
– The operation to destroy Ukrainian forces is ongoing.
– Over the day, the enemy lost more than 200 servicemen, a fighting infantry vehicle, four armored vehicles, two mortars and a motor vehicle. Two Ukrainian serviceman surrendered as POWs.
– Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk Region, Kiev has lost over 29,800 troops, 184 tanks, 107 infantry fighting vehicles, 107 armored personnel carriers, 1,082 armored combat vehicles, 809 motor vehicles, 259 artillery pieces, 40 multiple rocket launchers, including 11 HIMARS and six MLRS of US manufacture, 11 anti-aircraft missile launchers, seven transport and loading vehicles, 59 electronic warfare stations, 12 counter-battery radars, four air defense radars, 26 pieces of engineering and other equipment, including 13 counter-obstacle vehicles and one UR-77 mine-clearing vehicle, five armored repair and recovery vehicles, as well as a command and staff vehicle.

– A total of 20,000 troops, 27 tanks, 50 armored vehicles, 30 pieces of artillery, five multiple rocket launchers were supposed to be involved in the plan.

– Military investigators launched a criminal investigation against Ukrainian servicemen, who shelled a sugar factory in the Kursk Region on November 2, the Russian Investigative Committee’s press service reported.
